I created this Workflow Energy Management Google Sheet after years of coaching creative people and entrepreneurs who dealt with burnout and overwhelm when it came to prioritizing their work and managing their personal energy.
This method and sheet VISUALLY orients you and your tasks by Energy Required and Return on Energy along with other elements. A focus on personal energy allows for maximizing time, especially if you work for yourself and don’t necessarily do well with strict deadlines or if you are dealing with burnout at the moment. I got you!
1. Use the Grid to to enter tasks, then sort in List View. (**Tasks are NOT added on list view, only Grid view to train you to orient them around energy first!)
2. Items checked as DONE are automagically moved to an Archive sheet
3. You can go to the quadrant that matched your current energy and STILL get some tasks done when your energy is low, instead of zoning out and playing Tetris or taking a nap because you “just can’t” that day.
4. Sort by List view and you will never see your to-do list the same! You can even sort by Screen time
– You need a Google account to use Google Sheets and this sheet. You will MAKE A COPY from your purchase account associated with Google. **Make sure your purchasing email is associated with a Google account.**
– Renaming sheet tabs will cause the formulas to not work, don’t rename tabs.
– I’ve included about 1 hour of training on the Start page so you can see how the sheet used in real time with a review of each tab’s functions.
– There are 10 rows in each quadrant for entering tasks, don’t add more rows to the Grid view because it is meant to make you focus in on 10 at a time. If you’re completing 40 major tasks per day…you are rocking my world, BUT keep the grid to 10 rows in each quadrant to ensure proper sheet formula functions!
– My Workflow Energy Management method has been used by coaching clients since 2017 including: writers, musicians, painters, videographers, graphic designers, and entrepreneurs.
– I’ve been making my own planners since age 14 and as an artist/musician, I can say this visual layout / list sorter are 2 of the best ways I’ve found to prevent burnout and overwhelm when managing personal energy with tasks.
